Aisling Bea

Aisling is a popular Irish comedian who has been around for some time. Born in Kildare, Ireland, on 16th March 1984. Bea was on QI together with Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, better known as the stage name Aisling Bea (born March 16, 1984) is an Irish actor, writer and stand-up comic. Bea started appearing as part of the cast in Irish or British TV programs in the year 2009, made her debut as an stand-up comic in 2011. In 2012, she was frequently performing on sketch comedy shows and sitcoms. In 2012, after she was awarded an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) and began to be featured often in various panel shows. In 2016, and in 2017, she was a team leader for 8 Out of 10 Cats. Additionally, she was a contestant of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was the daughter of Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. She was only the second ever woman to win So You Think You're Funny. Bea's surname is in honour of her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh, O'Sullivan is the daughter of a Kildare born woman. Born on the 16th of March, 1984. Bea's father Brian was a vet for horses who committed suicide aged three. But, she did not learn the cause for her father's death until thirteen years later. In 2017, Bea published an article in The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family and took on the stage name Bea in tribute. Bea as well as her older sister Sinead was raised in the home of Helen Moloney (n e Moloney), a former jockey as well as a teacher at a secondary school. The family was obsessed with horses and racing. Bea was a trainer for The Irish National Stud in her young teens. But she was aware that it wasn't what she wanted to do for a living and that she was more interested in to perform.
